Chaloem Phanom Khet Temple

The Sala Phrian Project at Chaloem Phanom Khet Temple is a religious building measuring 20.00 × 40.00 meters, designed with a traditional gable roof. The space serves as a venue for meditation and religious activities, accommodating approximately 300 people.

The building’s walls are organized around the structural pillars, with carefully considered proportions to prevent the mass from appearing heavy or overly dark. Depth and spatial quality are enhanced through the deliberate use of light and shadow, contributing to a calm and balanced atmosphere.

Inside, the interior features a three-tiered overlapping ceiling, inspired by the layered roof forms commonly found in temples and churches. This design element reinforces a serene and contemplative environment appropriate for spiritual practice.

The rear wall behind the Buddha statue is finished with reflective aluminum, subtly reflecting the practitioners and surrounding environment. At the front, the Buddha statue is set against a backdrop of trees, creating a harmonious connection between the sacred interior space and the natural landscape.

We believe meaningful architecture begins with an understanding of context, people, and ways of living,
integrating functionality and sustainability through architectural design.
