Restaurant Renovation

Creating an atmosphere in architectural design can involve various approaches, and one of them is incorporating narratives related to the building, utilizing light and shadow to enhance the ambiance. In this context, designers may draw inspiration from the concept of releasing floating lanterns and adapt it to the design of light fixtures. The arrangement of these fixtures may resemble the flow of floating lanterns, mimicking the movement of air. In Japan, where the idea of air movement is associated with unique line patterns, these patterns may be used to develop light fixture layouts within architectural plans, resulting in lighting designs reminiscent of Japanese wind patterns, so we use this one in the Sakura Project

Omakase Space

The omakase space is designed to be minimal, calm, and focused on the dining experience. A dark stone wall behind the chef serves as a backdrop, enhancing the presence of the chef and highlighting the preparation process. Light-toned wood used for the counter and surrounding surfaces adds warmth and material balance, clearly reflecting a contemporary Japanese aesthetic.

Light and Shadow

The interplay of light and shadow is carefully designed to enhance depth and atmosphere within the omakase space. Soft, warm lighting creates gentle shadows that add dimension to the stone and wood surfaces, while avoiding harsh contrasts. This balance of light and shadow draws focus to the chef and the culinary process, reinforcing a calm, intimate, and refined dining experience.

We believe meaningful architecture begins with an understanding of context, people, and ways of living,
integrating functionality and sustainability through architectural design.
